I've been on survival blog for about five years now. There's lots of good stuff there, although I hate the site's layout.
But the purveyor of that site gets a big thumbs up from me.
The Deseret News article is pretty decent. It's good to see a newspaper acknowledging that there is a very real need for forward thinking and long term disaster prep.
the guy that wrote that article has a radio show saturday mornings on ksl about gardening. he knows his stuff. you could listen to it online down there if you were interested...
I've learned from the survival blog, although there are some things I personally think he takes to the extreme, but that's aight.
ditto on the layout though.
